1) Medication Management in Assisted Living Webinars
This Medication Management in Assisted Living Facilities program was produced by the Geriatrics and Gerontology Education and Research Program at the University of Maryland Baltimore with Funding from the Johns Hopkins Geriatrics Education Center Consortium. The intent of this webinar series is to provide an interdisciplinary approach to medication management issues commonly seen nationally in ALFs. There is a disclaimer specific to Maryland to insure accordance with current regulations (i.e. surrounding the use of pillboxes in ALFs.)
2) Assisted Living Facility Pharmacist Medication Review Checklist
This is a tool that can be used by consultant pharmacists as well as other clinicians or facilities to optimize medication management use. The checklist follows the existing Maryland COMAR with the intent of standardizing an approach to optimize medication regimen reviews which are required in Maryland.
This checklist was developed by a workgroup of various stakeholders and supported in part by grant money from the University of Maryland, School of Pharmacy and the Office of Health Care Quality. There is a series of short instructions to explain each of the domains. If you have instructions on this tool, please contact Nicole Brandt, PharmD, CGP, BCPP at nbrandt@rx.umaryland.edu
3) Consultant Pharmacists List for ALFs in Maryland
This is a list of pharmacists who have provided their contact information because they are either providing or interested in medication reviews in Assisted Living Facilities in Maryland. This list does not represent any endorsement of any of the names listed. If you are interested in being added to this list of providers, please send an email with your contact information to Dr. Nicole Brandt at nbrandt@rx.umaryland.edu. We will plan to update the list ideally quarterly.
